MRP Sticker Size Guide
A guide to choosing a practical label size — there is no single legally mandated MRP label size; choose based on your product and packaging.
MRP stickers come in a wide range of sizes, and the right one depends on your product's packaging, how much information you need to fit, and what printer or label rolls you're using. Here are the sizes most commonly used, and when each tends to make sense.
Common label sizes
| Size | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 25 × 15 mm | Very small items — jewelry, small cosmetics, accessories |
| 30 × 20 mm | Small bottles, tubes, blister packs |
| 40 × 20 mm | Cosmetics, small FMCG packs, garment tags |
| 50 × 25 mm / 50 × 30 mm | General-purpose — most common size for retail products |
| 60 × 30 mm / 70 × 30 mm | Larger packaging where more declaration text is needed |
| 80 × 40 mm / 100 × 50 mm | Cartons, larger packs, shipping labels combined with MRP info |
How to pick a size
Start with your available surface area
Measure the flattest, most visible surface on your packaging where a label can sit without wrapping around an edge.
List what must fit
Product name, MRP, net quantity and a barcode are usually non-negotiable — dates, batch numbers and origin can sometimes go in smaller text if space is tight.
Leave room for the barcode
A barcode that's too small relative to the label is the most common reason a printed label fails to scan — don't shrink it to fit more text.
Match what your printer or label rolls support
If you already use pre-cut sheet labels or a specific thermal roll width, work backwards from that size.
Custom sizes
If none of the presets fit, the Sticker Maker's Label tab accepts any custom width and height in millimeters, and the print layout recalculates how many labels fit per page automatically.
