MRP Labels for Amazon Sellers
General guidance — always check Amazon Seller Central's current policies for FBA vs. self-ship, as requirements differ between the two and change over time.
Amazon sellers in India generally need to think about labeling in two separate contexts: the legally required MRP declaration, and Amazon's own fulfillment labeling if you use FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon).
MRP declaration
Same baseline as any pre-packaged product sold in India — see our MRP rules overview for the commonly required fields.
FBA labeling
If you use Fulfilled by Amazon, Amazon typically requires each unit to carry a scannable barcode that ties back to your listing — either your own manufacturer barcode (if registered) or an Amazon-generated FNSKU label, depending on how your catalog is set up. This is separate from, and in addition to, your MRP label — check Seller Central's current FBA labeling requirements for your account before sending inventory to a fulfillment center, since mislabeled inventory is a common cause of receiving delays.
Self-ship listings
If you ship orders yourself rather than through FBA, Amazon's barcode requirements are typically lighter, but your product still needs its standard MRP label for the declarations required by law.
